Twin Brook Construction was founded in 2012 by J. Elmer Stoltzfus. Born and raised on an Amish farm in Gap, PA, Elmer worked the family farm in his youth, learning the values of discipline and hard work early in life.
But Elmer didn’t find his true passion until age 17 when he took a part time job as an apprentice with a local construction company. There, Elmer discovered that he loved carpentry and all the details and craftsmanship that go into it. He also found that he enjoyed being a part of the transformation process, seeing the possibilities of a space and making changes that turned it into something extraordinary.
As Elmer continued to hone his skills in carpentry and general remodeling, he dreamed of being his own boss and building his own company one day. That day came in July of 2012, when he opened the doors to Twin Brook Construction, a company named for the twin creek that runs through the family farm.
With 12 years of construction experience under his belt, Elmer worked alone during his first year in business, using a handful of sub-contractors to complete projects. Twin Brook Construction has since expanded to include a staff of five, including Elmer’s brother, along with many trusted and reliable sub-contractors.
Today Elmer has realized his dream and sees every day as a new and unique challenge. He enjoys being in the field, meeting new people, solving problems on challenging projects, and, of course, seeing the results of each and every finished project.
